He serves on the board of the California Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals and has an MBA from UCLA. Brian brings a strategy-first approach to tax planning, focused on transparency, proactive guidance, and helping individuals and families keep more of what they earn. Brian’s tax journey started after he switched tax preparers and learned he had been overpaying his taxes by $10,000 a year (a mistake that cost him over $100,000). Based in San Diego, his favorite coffee shop is Rancho Roasters, and his favorite taco is a never-ending culinary quest.

Tal Brown is co-founder of Gambit and an experienced founder, executive, and advisor with two decades of experience in the data and AI space. He has built companies and data platforms across multiple sectors, and he now applies that experience to designing the systems that enable Gambit to deliver a joyful, client-centered tax experience. After navigating and correcting multiple cross-border and entrepreneur tax scenarios (incurring significant fees and overpaid taxes), Tal discovered a new passion for delivering a tax experience that can be relied on to be accurate, proactive, and hyper-personalized.

Jody Padar, CPA, is a nationally recognized accounting leader and founder of the #radicalcpa movement. A pioneer of the cloud firm model and longtime honoree on Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People list, she brings deep experience across firm ownership, advisory innovation, and accounting technology. As an advisor to Gambit, she offers an external perspective shaped by her work at the intersection of accounting, technology, and practice transformation.

Shahar Plinner is a tax and accounting expert at Gambit with over 20 years of experience in the field. Known as the "Tax Guru" on the West Coast, Shahar founded, scaled, and sold a leading tax and accounting firm in the Seattle Metro, where he served thousands of business owners and perfected the art of S-Corp management. He holds an MBA from Seattle University and owns several S-Corps himself — giving him a uniquely hands-on perspective on the strategies he recommends to clients. Originally from Israel and now based in Seattle, Shahar brings deep expertise in cross-border and small business tax scenarios to the Gambit team. When he's not optimizing tax strategies, he can be found cheering at a live sports event or spending time with his wife and three kids.

Joshua Guthrie is an experienced operations and customer experience leader who most recently worked at Numeral, a B2B tax startup focused on US sales and global VAT taxes.
